Mrs. Brierton is an OHLAP contact, and a G/T coordinator.  She has been at MacArthur for 3 years.  Before coming to MHS, she taught T-1, 1st, and 2nd grade at Pat Henry Elementary, and in San Antonio for 15 years.  She attended school from elementary to High School in Lawton, graduating from LHS in 1985.  She then attended St. Gregory's College later transferring to OSU.  Mrs. Brierton received her Masters from SWOSU.  She recently attended a conference in Chicago on issues relating to counseling at a High School level.  In 2001 she won the "Champion for Children" award.  She became interested in school counseling because she wanted to be active in helping students make future decisions.  She is always interested in finding techniques or looking for information that will assist teachers in helping students. She had a desire to become a counselor, because she wanted to help young people realize their own future and hopefully open opportunities. Her motivation is "My door is always open! Come on in. Let's see what we can do!"
