Mr. Hatch teaches band and music appreciation. He has been teaching here at
MacArthur for 8 years. He has previously taught at Elgin for 2 years, Perry for 4
years, and Lawton High for 10 years. Mr. Hatch graduated from Lawton High
School in 1978 and attended 4 years at Oklahoma State University where he
graduated in 1982. Mr. Hatch is a part of the Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra,
Texoma Brass Quintet, OMEA, and OBA. He was named the Band Director of the
Year for Southwest Oklahoma in 2000 and won the sweepstakes award in 2001.
Mr. Hatch became interested in teaching because his dad was a band director and
his high school band director was great. When Mr. Hatch's students see successful
results from very hard work, they become more motivated. Mr. Hatch tries to stay
enthusiastic and that is contagious.
