
A native of Detroit, Michigan I received my Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 1972, and Masters of Music Degree in Trumpet Performance and Teaching in 1975 from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
My teaching experience included Spring Valley Academy in Centerville, Ohio, Thunderbird Academy in Scottsdale, Arizona, and the Detroit Public Schools.
In 1982 I joined the United States Army and performed on French horn and trumpet, directed various groups, and sang with small groups. I marched for military ceremonies. Military training was also required in the army.
While in the army, I performed in concerts in the following states and countries: Mexico, Arizona, California, Las Vegas Nevada, Stuttgart Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia (Gulf War), and Seoul Korea.
In 2002, after twenty years, I retired as Staff Sergeant (SSG) from the United States Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
In 2004 I began teaching string classes (orchestra) at MacArthur High-School, MacArthur Junior High School, Sullivan Village Elementary, Carriage Hills Elementary, and Park Lane Elementary.
Currently I'm teaching orchestra at MacArthur High School, and MacArthur Middle School.
I belong to the following professional organizations: OEA, MENC, OMEA, ASTA with NSOA, PEAL, NEA, DAV, AARP, and PTSA.
I am also a veteran of Foreign Wars: Saudi Arabia soldier from December 1990- may 1991.
