Cynthia Mason

 She teaches Algebra 1, and Geometry. She taught at Tomlinson for 16 years.  Her educational background is she went to Cameron and took BA Mathematics with minor in computer science,  National Board certified as Early Adolescent Generalist.  Her professional experiences are trainer for Connected Mathematics to 5th grade Alg. I teachers in Oklahoma, 2006 coauthored math/science grant for $300,000+ summer institute, math lead teacher for CU summer algebra workshop in 2007. Her awards are the 2005 Mathematics Association of America (MAA) middle level mathematics Teacher of the Year, LPS teacher of the Year nominee, OEA Golden Apple award winner. The things that made her become a teacher were she grew up in a family of teachers, but planned to teach one year until she decided what she wanted to do.  That one year was enough to hook her and she has had fun ever since. she loves math and she loves sharing and spreading that with others. She keeps her students motivated by trying to keep math relevant and enjoyable.  She varies her instruction to make math fun and exciting.
