History

The band room was constructed along with the original high school building in 1969 and was only intended for a 48 person band. Current membership is up to 95 in the 2006-2007 school year. In 1969 Charles Turner a graduate of Panhandle State became the first director and only stayed for a year. The next year Bob Hall came in for the '70-'71 school year. Next was Charlie Millenders and was director from 1971 until 1982.  In 1983 Carl Reno took over until he left to teach at Lawton High at the end of the  1997 school year. In the fall of '98 Larry Hatch took over as director and is still here today.
