Mac defense holds Shawnee to 109 total yards in
shutout

MacArthur is getting stronger
and stronger at the perfect time, and the rest of the state had better watch
out. The No. 9 Highlanders beat No. 7 Shawnee, 34-0, in a Class 5A first round
game at Cameron Stadium Friday night. It was a team effort. Shawnee averages 37
points per game but managed just 109 total yards against a Mac defense that
couldn’t have played better.

Steele overcomes slow start

If you’ve been watching MacArthur football games this season, you might have
noticed one name coming over the P.A. more than it did early in the year.
That name is Kelvin Steele.
The Highlander senior defensive end got off to a slow start but has been a
difference maker recently as Mac is starting to play its best defense of the
year.
“He got a lot of playing time as a junior and held his own against some
bigger players, so I felt good about him coming back to anchor our line,” Mac
