I am very excited to be working with our Highlanders this year! This is my 23rd year with Lawton Public Schools. I was previously a teacher at Sheridan Road Elementary on Fort Sill for 8 years, and then a counselor at MacArthur Middle School for 13 years. I graduated from Cameron University with my Bachelor of Science in elementary education. After teaching for a few years, I pursued my master’s degree in counseling from East Central University and graduated with a Master of Education in counseling K-12. I then began working on becoming a National Board Certified Teacher and received that certification 12 years ago as a Middle Childhood Generalist. I renewed my National Board Certification in counseling a few years ago.
I was born and raised in the Lawton/Ft. Sill area. I graduated high school from Elgin and grew up out by the Wichita Mountains. I have a son, Cooper, who is a senior this year at Mac. My family attends First Presbyterian Church in Lawton, and we are active members. I enjoy working as a counselor and am eager to work with your children this year. Email
