About 300 Lawton Public Schools students participated in the Annual Cameron University Thesis Defense Competition on Nov. 14.
This year’s topic was The Relationship Between Social Class and Government. In the preliminary round, students submitted written papers to a panel of CU professors for evaluations. Then they appeared before a panel of CU professors to conduct an oral defense of their papers similar to what graduate students encounter. Based on their combined written and oral scores, students were awarded Division I, II or III ratings.
