LPS Family: We continue to remain in communication with our Fort Sill and County Emergency Management officials regarding the current weather conditions. While weather conditions look to improve tomorrow afternoon, the roads have the possibility of having ice during the morning commute. Erring on the side of safety for students on school buses, as well as students and employees traveling, we have made the decision to remain REMOTE for Thursday, February 2. The safety of our students and staff continue to be placed at the forefront of our decision-making. Thank you for your understanding. We will see everyone on Friday, Feb. 3.

"I'm looking forward to a new opportunity to remain actively involved in the Lawton community since my children and many friends and neighbors are enrolled in Lawton Public Schools. I've admired and respected the other members on the school board for years, and it's inspiring to see how much knowledge and passion they have for the students in Lawton, and I look forward to working with them." We're continuing to hear from our Board Members about what they enjoy most about being a member for Board Appreciation Month! Today we spoke with Carla Clodfelter. "I love being a board member because I love Lawton Public Schools. My husband and I both attended LPS, as well as my grandparents, father, children and now the 5th generation of my family attend Pat Henry Elementary. I feel the most important thing I can do for the future of LPS is to serve on the board and help guide the way to a better future for all children as well as my own. The growth LPS has made in the 7 years I've been a board member has been inspiring. We have passed a $99.5 million dollar bond, built a multimillion dollar middle school (EMS), remodeled Douglas Elementary School and dedicated it to Mr. Albert Johnson, Sr a former teacher and mentor at LPS for nearly 70 years. The list goes on and on. The future of LPS is limitless, I'm going to sit back and watch with pride as we continue to grow and thrive." We are thankful for the dedication our Board Members show for our district! Be on the lookout as we hear from our newest Board Member, Elizabeth Fabrega. #LawtonPS #WeAreLPS #oklaed
